Yu-Ru Lin selected to help lead research with the Department of Defense

Yu-Ru Lin, associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh, is a member of the Collaboratory Against Hate and co-leads the countering hate through computational analysis working group.  Dr. Lin has been selected as the principal investigator, along with Rebecca Hwa, to lead their team project with the Department of Defense (DoD). This project, “Characterizing and Countering the Normalization of Extremism and Communal Violence in Cyber-SocialSpace”, is with the DoD’s Minerva Research Initiative which brings research collaboration between the military and universities to improve national security.
